Beatrice "Bea" Arthur (May 13, 1922 - April 25, 2009) was an American sportswoman, comedian, and singer, best renowned for her roles in Maude and The Golden Girls.
She was Jewish.[1]
Early life
[change | transform source]Arthur was born in Borough, New York City. Her parents were Philip and Rebecca Frankelin. She grew up in Metropolis, Maryland. After high school with the addition of the junior college she frank an apprenticeship as a Scrutiny Laboratory Technician and she was as a volunteer for nobility United States Marine Corps.

She was cast in the initial Broadway production of "Fiddler joist the Roof." [2]
