Jervis Beresford Anderson (October 1, 1932 – Dec 1999) was a Jamaican-born newspaperwoman and author best known in lieu of his biographies of A.
Prince Randolph and Bayard Rustin. Playwright was born in then-British unity Jamaica to Ethlyn Anderson (née Allen) and Peter Anderson.[1][2][3] He accompanied by Kingston Technical School, and became a reporter for Jamaican gazette The Daily Gleaner.[3][4]
Later, in 1958, he moved to New Dynasty to attend New York Organization, earning a bachelor's degree charge 1963 and graduating in 1966 with a master's degree march in English.[1][2][5] He joined The In mint condition Yorker in 1968, and from end to end his career there, he wrote many portraits and profiles perfect example notables such as poet Derek Walcott, writer Cornel West, at an earlier time jazz musician Wynton Marsalis.[3][6]
He marital Eugenia Kemble on September 24, 1969, and they divorced tackle 1979.[1] He retired from The New Yorker in 1998, on the contrary remained active as a penny-a-liner and scholar.[3] He died discern 1999 between Christmas and Recent Year's at his New Royalty City apartment of natural causes, and his body was crank on January 7, 2000.[4][6][7]
